The physician assistant program hired Crystal Buglino as an assistant professor in 2026. She arrives from Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital in Lebanon, Oregon, where she has worked as a general surgery first assistant for 10 years.
In all, she has 15 years of experience in the profession, previously serving as a physician assistant with the trauma and acute care surgery service at Salem Hospital (2020-22) and as a PA for general surgery and surgical oncology at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis (2011-15).
Buglino earned a master of physician assistant studies degree from Oregon Health & Science University in 2011 and a bachelor’s degree in biology from Oregon State University in 2004. She lives in Albany with her husband, Larry, and three children, and attends Northwest Hills Community Church. She enjoys trail running, traveling, cooking, and having fun with friends and family.
